rapid transit line on theOslo T-bane system between downtown Oslo and Bergkrystallen. The line serves neighborhoods in south-eastern Oslo such asLambertseter , and runs west ofØstensjøbanen .The line was opened as a
tram line in1957 . OnMay 22 ,1966 it became the first line of the Oslo T-bane withthird rail and metro standard.The line is usually operated by Line 4, which runs through the city centre, makes a full run on
Ring Line (changing line number to 6 during the journey), and leaves on theKolsås Line in the west. The Kolsås Line has short platforms which can only accommodate three-car trains, therefore, to increase capacity during therush hour , Line 1 is extended from Helsfyr to Bergkrystallen during the morning and evening rush.ee also
