George Dangerfield (October 28, 1904 – December 26, 1986) was a journalist, an author, and the literary editor of Vanity Fair from 1933 to 1935.

Dangerfield was born in Newbury, Berkshire in England and educated at Forest School, Walthamstow (then in Essex). He received his B.A. from Hertford College, Oxford in 1926.

Dangerfield moved to the United States in 1930 and became an American citizen in 1943.

Dangerfield is best remembered for writing "The Strange Death of Liberal England" (1935), a classic study of the rapid decline of the Liberal Party in the United Kingdom before World War I. In 1953, his book "The Era of Good Feelings" (1952) won both the Pulitzer Prize and the Bancroft Prize.
