Albany Academy for Girls (commonly referred to as AAG) is a girls' day school in Albany, New York, USA. Founded in 1814 by Ebenezer Foote as the "Albany Female Academy", AAG is the oldest independent girls' day school in the United States [http://www.albanyacademyforgirls.org/admissions/facts_and_figures.htm] . It is located on the corners of Hackett and Academy Roads, across the street from its brother school, The Albany Academy, which was founded three months prior.

On November 16, 2006, the board of trustees announced the school will merge with The Albany Academy to form The Albany Academies, which will consolidate the governance, finances, and facilities of the two schools. Albany Academy for Girls will, however, retain its own identity and continue to grant diplomas under its present name.

Collaboration with The Albany Academy

The Board of Trustees announced the two Academies will merge to form The Albany Academies by the 2007-2008 academic year under a unified administration and interim Head of Schools. Single-gender education will continue under the present form.

The Upper School Coordinate Program, a mutually beneficial partnership, broadens the range of educational and extracurricular opportunities available in both schools by permitting Upper School students to enroll at classes at either school. The two schools also sponsor a coeducational early childhood program for three-year-old students and provide selected social and enrichment activities that are held with boys and girls together in the Lower and Middle School grades.
