Nicholas Jones (born 3 April 1946, London) is an English character actor. His older sister is actress Gemma Jones. They are the children of actor Griffith Jones.
Nicholas Jones was educated at Westminster School and he trained as an actor at RADA and the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He then appeared on stage at the National Theatre and the Old Vic.
On television he is perhaps best known for his role as Captain Triggers in the 1970s World War I adventure series, Wings. After years of bit parts on British television, he gained a new audience when he appeared regularly opposite John Thaw in Kavanagh Q.C. as womanising barrister Jeremy Aldermarten QC during the 1990s. In 2008, he appeared as Mr Merdle's 'Scary' Butler alongside Alun Armstrong, Anton Lesser and Amanda Redman in four episodes of Little Dorrit.
