Pinnock was born in Balham, South London, growing up with his family in Hartley, Kent. He is the youngest of three children. His older brother and sister are both secondary school teachers. Both his parents are Jamaican.[1] His mother is a retired midwife and his father is an electrical engineer who works for a major global engineering company. As a result, Pinnock spent his early childhood living in Saudi Arabia. Whilst attending school there, his teachers recognised his talent for performing. Whilst there, in his first week, he made his professional debut landing several jobs as a child actor from adverts to music videos; film and television work to modelling. Continuing his vocational training, Pinnock attended a 3 year musical theatre course at the London Studio Centre. After 1 year, he decided acting was his first love and the following 2 yrs concentrated on drama and contemporary dance.
After graduating and still acting, Pinnock joined Lea Anderson's Contemporary Dance Company the Featherstonehaughs, for several years. He went on to do some commercial dance work for various artists and fashion events.
