Sarangkheda is a village in Shahada taluka in Nandurbar district of Maharashtra state in India. Sarangkheda village is situated around 15 km South of Shahada on the bank of Tapti River.
Overview
Sarangkheda village and towns like Shahada, Taloda, Akkalkuwa, and Dhadgaon in the northern area of Sarangkheda were almost cut off from the rest of Maharashtra until 1957. In 1957, a bridge was built which connected villages and towns in the area north of the Tapti river to the rest of Maharashtra.
There is one famous Ganesh Mandal namely Navyuvak Ganesh Mandal. Every year they celebrate Ganesh Utsav for 5 days from Ganesh Chaturthi, celebrating this festival since 1984.
Recently a barrage is built just to the east of the bridge to supply water for irrigation and drinking.[1]
The village is known for annual fair and main attraction of fair is horse bazar or horse trading. The fair is of 2 weeks long and attracts thousands of people and people comes from different part of country to buy horses for many purposes like horse riding, farming etc.[2]
This Datt Mandir is almost 100 year old and renovated around 40 years ago. It is believed that idol of Datta has been brought from Mahur in Nanded district. [3][4] Mr. Jagadish Badgujar is the first fellow from village who completed M.Pharm and now working in Dr Reddys Lab. Hyderabad.
Mr.Ravindra B.Patil is one of the successful man from this village working in largest agrochemical and pesticide company namely Sabero Organics Gujarat Ltd as a senior manager.
