Peter Malcolm Holt, FBA (1918–2006) was a historian of the Middle East and Sudan in particular.^[1]

Biography

Holt attended Lord Williams's Grammar School in Thame and went on to study History at University College, Oxford.^[2] He went on to become Professor of the History of the Near and Middle East at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) from 1975-1982.
