Ostaszewo — Village — Country Poland Voivodeship Masovian County Ciechanów Gmina Sońsk Population 77 Ostaszewo [ɔstaˈʂɛvɔ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Sońsk, within Ciechanów County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland, about 100 kilometres (62 mi) north of Warsaw.[1] The village has a population of 77. It is composed of five parts: Ostaszewo Wielkie, Ostaszewo Panki, Ostaszewo Wloski, Ostaszewo Wola Rancza and Ostaszewo Czernie.
History
In feudal Poland lands surrounding Ostaszewo belonged to the Ostoja-Ostaszewski family whose main branch resided in Ostaszewo Wielkie (in Medieval Latin: Ostaszewo Magna).
According to historical records in the AGAD Archives in Warsaw, the following representatives of the Ostoja-Ostaszewski family were the owners of Ostaszewo Wielkie in 15th-18th centuries:
- Scibor (Stibor) of Ostaszewo - his name appears in local registers of 1446
- Pawel of Ostaszewo - his name appears in local registers of 1474
- Scibor Ostaszewski, son of Pawel of Ostaszewo - his name appears in local registers of 1512
- Pawel Ostaszewski, son of Scibor Ostaszewski, married to Anna Golocka - his name appears in local registers in 1552
