Kalki Bhagavan

Kalki Bhagavan

Kalki Bhagavan was the title of the Indian founder of the movement known as Oneness University, Kalki Dharma, Bhagavad Dharma, Golden Age Foundation, or Foundation for World Awakening.[1]

The one who once claimed to be Kalki bhagavan was born on 7 March 1949 as Vijay Kumar, in Natham district, Tamil Nadu, and is currently known as Sri Bhagavan. On the early 1980s he worked as a clerk at the Life Insurance Corporation before becoming an administrator of a school in Rajupeta village in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor District.[2]

He has used names such as Mukteshwar or Sri Kalki Bhagavan, all hindu related names, at different times. Kalki, on the other hand, is the name used for the tenth incarnation of Vishnu when this Vishnu incarnates on a white horse, wielding a sword, as destroyer of the wicked.[3] On the other hand, Sri Bhagavan and his wife "Amma" Padmavati (born 1954)[4] claim to be divine beings, or avatars, for whom ever desire to follow or become their devotee. For instance; the headquarters of their organisation is called Golden City, near Chennai, India, where devotees goes to worship them or their teachings as well.

Media ban

In March 2010 in the Chennai High Court, a judge issued an order to thirty Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu news channels preventing them from showing footage related to allegations about the organisations and affairs of Kalki Bhagavan.[5]
