It lies within the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park.
The village of Odeceixe lies on steeply rising ground on the south bank of the Ribeira de Seixe which at this point forms the boundary between the Algarve and Alentejo Region.
The parish includes Praia do Odeceixe at the mouth of the Ribera de Seixe. This has one of the few official naturist beaches in Portugal.
