But after 10 years of pausing Kaliopi made a comeback on the Macedonian music stage. Than after four years she published her first solo album under the title "Oboi Me".
Production history
The complete album is made by Romeo Gril and Kaliopi. It was recorded in Austria, but realized just in Macedonia. It contains 10 songs with different style. The cover is made by Stephani Berger from Switzerland and the graphic design is by Bojan Sredojević. It was realized in late December 1999 together with the music video for the song "Oboi Me". Later in March 2000 it was realized one more video, but now for the song "Daj Da Pijam".
Singles
Oboi Me
- Oboi Me (in English: Color Me) is the first single realized from the album. It was realized in late December 1999 together with the realization of the album. The music and the lyrics were written by Kaliopi itself and the arrangement is by her ex husband and musician Rome Gril. In the song Kaliopi is asking for her partner to color everything that is dark and gray such as her memories and the old days with different colors such as: green, yellow etc. The song was realized with a music video that went around the national Macedonian TV MRTV for a lot of time. The video is very similar to the lyrics of the song.[2]
Daj Da Pijam
- Three months after realizing the album in March Kaliopi realized her second single "Daj Da Pijam" (in English: Let Me Drink). Again the author of the music is Kaliopi by herself and the arrangement is by Rome Gril. In the song Kaliopi is singing about a man with whom she is in love. She says to him that she waited him a lot of time and when he is not in front of her she is burning. In the chorus she is pleading him to give her to drink for his lips and she is saying to him that she could be his wine and he could drink from her.[3] For the song was made a high quality video with an interesting story.
