Nomad News Developer(s) DMP Software Stable release 2.10 / November 5, 2002 Operating system Windows Type News client License Freeware Website Nomad News Nomad News is an Usenet news client used on the Windows operating system for downloading and uploading binary content. Nomad News was developed by DMP Software. Early versions had been a commercial product. It is however available for free since version 1.43. Even though further development has stopped since the last release in 2002, it is still fully functional under recent versions of Windows up to Windows 7.
Nomad News supports mass saving and decoding of multi-part attachments encoded in uuencode, yEnc and base64. JPEG and GIF attachments can be viewed with an internal viewer. Article threads are displayed in a tree-like display. Articles can be filtered by defining tagging rules, which combine wildcard expressions applied to the article's size, subject, author, date and filename. Even though the emphasis of Nomad News lies on downloading attachments, it allows also textual viewing of articles and posting of articles and replies including binary attachments as single or multi-part posts.
