Nelson W. Aldrich Jr. (born 1935) is an American editor and the author of Old Money: The mythology of Wealth in America (Alfred A. Knopf, 1988; Allworth Press, 1996) and George, Being George (Random House, 2008), the story of author and socialite George Plimpton told via first hand accounts of many who knew him. Aldrich was at one time the Paris editor of The Paris Review and is a frequent contributor to publications such as Vogue and Harper's. He is a great-grandson of Nelson W. Aldrich who was a leader of the Republican Party in the Senate and fundamental in the founding of the Federal Reserve banking system in the United States.
