Contents

Present

Service 33 currently serves Birmingham, Newtown, Perry Barr, Kingstanding and Pheasey. National Express West Midlands currently run every 7/8 minutes daytime Monday - Saturday, every 15 minutes early evenings & every 30 minutes evenings and 12 minutes Sunday to create a very high frequency with service 51 between Birmingham & Perry Barr running every 3/4 minutes Monday-Saturday, every 7/8 early evenings, every 15 minutes evenings & every 6 minutes on Sundays. The service is usually run by Wright Eclipse, however, when needed the service will usually experience Alexander Dennis Enviro400s or Volvo B7TL Alexander ALX400s on it. Very rarely will an appearance by Volvo B10B's be seen. The service is run commercially.

Service 33 has also experienced some form of competition from Cityspeed, however, they have now withdrawn from the service. Due to the nature of the route through Kingstanding sates Diamond Bus have not touched this route and would be reluctant to run a commercial service.

First Showcase Bus Route

During the late 1990s Travel West Midlands (former name of National Express West Midlands) started to invest in new vehicle purchases and the bus route 33 was given branding for its buses used on this route.
