Nadwasarai is a small village situated 8 km away from Ghosi in Mau district, Uttar Pradesh.

It is a typical village with a population of approximately 7-8,000 people. The village does not have a reliable 24 hour electricity supply and amenities are basic . In 2005 a telephone exchange was constructed [1] It was the first village in India where The Human Resource Development Foundation (HRDF)[2] established a school[2]. The school, was opened in 1990, and is called Bal Shishu Niketan. Originally started as Primary school and nursery, it has been upgraded by the District Education Department of Mau to a class VIII school [3]. There are 350 students, around 30% are female [2].
