Academics
Tisch School of the Arts Asia, Singapore Campus will offer a New York University Masters of Fine Arts degrees in Animation and Digital Arts, Dramatic Writing, and Film. All programs integrate both theory and practice, providing students with the tools, instruction, and guidance to become creative leaders within their respective fields. Tisch Asia intends to enroll approx. 250 students ultimately.[1]
Animation and Digital Arts MFA (Two Year Program): Students are immersed in a unique creative environment that teaches the traditional forms of the art of animation and explores a sandbox of advanced techniques and digital technologies. Students will have an opportunity to practice traditional forms of animation, markerless motion capture, gaming, scientific visualization, interactive installation, and new ways of interactive storytelling. [1]
Dramatic Writing MFA (Two Year Program): Just as an artist uses a sketchbook to work out an idea for a painting, students in the Dramatic Writing program use film, videotape, and staged reading to bring their writing and characters to life. [2]
Film MFA (Three Year Program): Students are exposed to detailed instruction and practical experience of film production, including writing, directing, acting, cinematography, editing, sound recording/design, and applied aesthetics. Students also learn the workings of the industry and the demands of a career in film. [3]
Tisch Asia Faculty have been meticulously selected to teach because of their professional experience, strong ties to the industry, and their tireless devotion to educating the next generation of storytellers. Many faculty members are originally from the New York campus and are now in residence in Singapore. New Faculty members have joined Tisch Asia from Asia, Europe and the US. Students spend time with faculty in lectures, labs, and intense production and lecture periods.
Tisch Asia Scholarships are awarded based on both need and merit to students to help cover the estimated S$40,000 tuition fee.[2]
