Each episode will focus on one team's day of cooking and serving a three course dinner for the judges and their opposing teams. After all the teams have been assessed, the team with the lowest score will be eliminated. This process is then repeated with the remaining teams until two teams remain, where both of them will compete for the final time to win the series.

After South Australia served their final course to their guests, Pete and Manu revealed to their guests that they all must arrive at a mystery location the next day. There, the judges will reveal their scores for South Australia's courses and the first elimination will happen. The mystery location turned out to be the My Kitchen Rules Headquarters where large, stylish kitchens were revealed inside. At the headquarters, South Australia received their total score of 74, the highest out of all the couples, which resulted in the Western Australian team being eliminated from the competition. Afterwards, five new teams were included into the competition, again one from each state.
Episode 10 - Second Elimination
After South Australia served their final course to their guests, Pete and Manu revealed to their guests that they would be meeting at My Kitchen Rules Headquarters. At the headquarters, South Australia received their total score of 56, which resulted in the New South Wales team being eliminated from the competition. It was then revealed that all non-elimitated teams were in the top 8, their scores were arranged from 1st through 8th and contestants were told that in the next round of head to head competitions scores would be important.
Episode 11 - Quarter Final
With eight teams remaining, based on their scores from their first round, the top four scoring teams advanced through to the semi finals. The other four had to cook for the final two spots to the semi finals. In the end, Victoria(1) and Queensland(1) scored the highest and they advanced to the semi finals, eliminating teams Victoria(2) and South Australia(2).
Episode 12-14 - Semifinals
For the semi finals, based on their first round scores, it was South Australia(1) (rank 1) vs Victoria(1) (rank 6), Queensland(2) (rank 2) vs Queensland(1) (rank 5) and New South Wales(1) (rank 3) vs Western Australia(2) (rank 3).
Episode 15 - Preliminary Final
Clint & Noah automatically proceed to the grand final due to their having the highest score from the semi-final rounds. Mossy & Gabe and Veronica & Shadi must battle it out for the other spot in the grand final. Receiving a higher score Veronica & Shadi will also be proceeding to the grand final.
Episode 16 - Grand Final
Shadi and Veronica were the winners of the inaugural My Kitchen Rules, defeating Clint and Noah by 4 points.
