In 1995, Lawrence Muzyka established Muzyka & Associates, a firm that provides certified industrial hygiene and safety services to government, industry, and commercial businesses. Mr. Muzyka’s goal was to provide high quality health and safety services that were both professional and personal, yet cost-effective. He has achieved this goal by being personally involved in all the firm’s projects.
Prior to founding Muzyka & Associates, Mr. Muzyka was a Director of Corporate Safety and Industrial Hygiene for a major railroad company operating in fourteen states with some 25,000 employees. His experience also extends to the pharmaceutical industry where he was an industrial hygienist in the worldwide EHS department responsible for the health and safety of 17,000 employees operating in 28 countries.
Additionally, Mr. Muzyka served in government for twelve years. Working with the USEPA environmental response programs, he led a team of health, safety and environmental professionals developing, conducting, and presenting EPA-sponsored training to federal, state, and county emergency response personnel.
As an environmental specialist with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), he responded to oil and hazardous material emergencies, fires, and spills. In this emergency responder role, he monitored environmental impact and assured that hazardous material remediation was conducted in accordance with the intent of the New Jersey Spill Compensation and Control Act.
