Mountain Secondary School is located at 60 Caledon Avenue Hamilton Ontario, and is a member of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. The school was founded in 1995 when the Caledon and Crestwood Vocational Schools merged and has a 2009-2010 student enrolment of 328. The school's mission statement is "Every day, every lesson, every activity prepares our students for success in the workplace." Mountain Secondary School uses the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) to assess Grade 10 students' skills in reading and writing. Successful completion of the test is one of 32 requirements students need to attain in order to receive an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The school also offers special education classes as well as an ESL program. Mountain Secondary School offers a Pathway program that enables students to focus their studies in specific career area. The goal of the program is to assist students in finding employment, or gain experience in a specific field of interest that may be to their advantage moving forward.
