Moore Peak

Moore Peak (77°31′S 168°27′E / 77.517°S 168.45°E / -77.517; 168.45) is a peak rising to c.2500 m on the west slope of Mount Terror, Ross Island. The peak is 1.6 nautical miles (3.0 km) west-southwest of the summit of Mount Terror and 1 nautical mile (1.9 km) south of Mount Sutherland. At the suggestion of P.R. Kyle, named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) (2000) after James A. Moore, a member of the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology team on Mount Erebus in the 1983-84 and 1985-86 field seasons. He completed his M.S. thesis on the geology of Mount Erebus.
