Moorabool Station information Line Geelong-Ballarat Number of platforms 1 Number of tracks 1 Station status Closed Moorabool is a closed railway station on the Geelong–Ballarat railway line in the locality of Moorabool, Victoria, Australia. It was originally known as Steiglitz Road,[1] and is located east of another heritage structure, the Moorabool Viaduct.The station is no longer served by passenger services, being passed by freight trains and The Overland.
The station building was built in 1861 by a private contractor for the Victorian Railways and comprises a single storey gable roofed basalt station building, with two storey residence attached. The station buildings were sold in 1977 and currently serve as a private residence.[2] The buildings are listed on the Victorian Heritage Register[3] and the Register of the National Estate.
