As of the 2008-09 school year, the district's one school had an enrollment of 292 students and 30.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.5.[1]
For the grades above grade 6, they cross state lines to attend middle school and high school in nearby Port Jervis, New York or may enroll at Sussex County Technical School, which accepts students on a selective basis, and to the middle school charter program in Sparta Township.[3]
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "B", the second lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[4]
