Mons Telescope

Mons Telescope

The MONS Telescope has 50cm diameter and was constructed by the University of Mons (Belgium) in 1972 for night observation purposes. It is located at Observatorio del Teide on Tenerife, and is operated by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias. The telescope was at first used by the Department of Astrophysics in "Universidad de La Laguna" and is still oriented for educational purposes. Many colleges request observation time for their student's projects. It's also used by groups of amateur astronomers.
