Overview
As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, No. 137 Mohiuddinnagar (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is composed of the following: Mohiuddinnagar and Mohanpur community development blocks; Tara Dhamaun, Uttri Dhamaun, Dakshini Dhamaun, Inayatpur, Hetanpur, Rupauli, Chaksaho, Harpur Saidabad and Seora gram panchayats of Patori CD Block.[1]
Mohiuddinnagar (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of No. 22 Ujiarpur (Lok Sabha constituency).[1]

1977-2010
In the 2010 state assembly elections, Rana Gangeswar Singh of BJP won the Mohiuddinnagar seat defeating his nearest rival Ajay Kumar Bulganin of RJD. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Ajay Kumar Bulganin of RJD defeated Rana Gangeswar Prasad Singh of LJP in October 2005. Ajay Kumar Bulganin of LJP defeated Rana Gangeswar Prasad Singh of JD(U) in February 2005. Ram Chandra Rai of RJD defeated Ajay Kumar Bulganin of JD(U) in 2000. Ram Chandra Rai of Janata Dal defeated Anugrah Narain Singh of Congress in 1995 and Chandrakant Choudhary of BJP in 1990. Anugrah Narain Singh of Congress defeated Ram Chandra Rai, Independent, in 1985. Ram Chandra Rai of Congress (U) defeated Anugrah Narain Singh of Congress (I) in 1980. Premlata Rai of Janata Party defeated Ram Anugrah Narain Singh of Congress in 1977.[2][3]
