Mohammed Amine Smaili (محمد أمين الإسماعيلي) is a Muslim theologian[1] who specializes in international Muslim dogma and comparative religion. He is a professor at Mohammed V University in Morocco.
Course
Smaili was awarded a phD in theology in Saudi Arabia. Chief of Staff for the Minister of Religious Endowment and Islamic Affairs for two years, he decided to direct his career to higher education and research. He was appointyeed head of Islamic dogma and comparative religion at Hassan II University. Five years later, he took on a similar post at the Mohamed V University in Rabat. He is the director of a group of researchers responsible for a Masters degree on the subject, and has organized several seminars.[citation needed].
Since 1994, his research and its relevance to peace and inter-religious dialogue has enabled him to attend and be involved in the majority of international meetings organized by the Community of Sant'Egidio.[2]
Books
Smaili has written over five books, including Imam Malik and Imam Ahmed Hanbal Bnou.
