He is a member and has been captain of the Oman national football team since 2004. He has led the national team through 2 Gulf Cup of Nations finals, in 2 Asian Cups, and 2 World Cup qualifications. He has been serving the national team since 2001.

His name, Mohammed (or spells as Mohamed, Muhammad) Rabia (or spells as Rabea) Jamaan Al-Noobi, means Mohammed, son of Rabia, son of Jamaan, descendant of Al-Noobi.
He is commonly referred as Mohammed Rabia[1] or Mr. Rabia, his correct name is Mohammed Rabia Jamaan Al-Noobi[2] or Mohammed Al-Noobi.[3]
