Modern Vidya Niketan is known for its outstanding secondary schools committed to quality education at three different locations and the fastest developing campus for technical and management education. “Coming events cast their shadows before” they say. In the same line, came Principal Gopal Sharma, from a humble beginning as a farmer’s son, educated in village Khambi in Palwal and he went on to live his dream of a “Quality Education” with the inception of Modern Vidya Niketan , Sector – 17, Faridabad in the year 1983 and hitched the institution to the stars. Subsequently came M.V.N. Aravali Hills in the sojourns of Aravali Range, an expanse of 12 acres with ultra modern features besides being an architectural marvel.

Born on Feb 23, 1955, Principal Gopal Sharma, aspired to render his humanitarian service to society by way of education, which he believed alone could redress the society of its intellectual handicap. This great crusader took up the cause and opened schools not only for the girl child but also for the less privileged section of society in Khambi his home town. Formative years must be the real founding stones – thus came M.V.N. Future Genius School for the pre primary children. The town Palwal also witnessed an up thrust as it welcomed M.V.N, Palwal with open arms. The classrooms transformed into smart classes with computer as their backbone. He was truly a visionary who urged the students and teachers to go computer savvy, thus widening their mental horizons. Value education was his primary thought and he well amalgamated the modern with the ethical & moral social values.

Taking giant strides, founder Principal Mr. Gopal Sharma decided to open Medical, Engineering and Business Schools in the NCR. Unfortunately, this great educationist left for his heavenly abode on Dec. 19, 2004, before actualizing this dream project. But the legacy that he left behind continues to live on. G.S. M.V.N. Engg. College and Les Filles Engg. College are testimony to the fact that Mr. Varun Sharma has so spontaneously taken upon himself the cherished dream of his late father.

Principal Sir as he is fondly remembered and called today, was a man of principles and strong determination with a personal charisma to add a spark of life, envied by many and loved respected and trusted by all. His magnetic personality and undaunted courage, his persistence to the cause will remain a beacon of light for generations to come. People will come and people will go but his presence will go on encouraging and motivating those, devoted and dedicated to literacy.

Every year M.V.N. Society organizes ‘Prerna Divas’ on Dec, 19 and ‘Sankalp Divas’ on Feb, 23 to renew the vows that M.V.N. family so unconditionally reposed in him year ago.

Modern Vidya Niketan Schools run by an education society registered with the state government under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1960 has been functioning in Faridabad since 1983. Founded by Late Shri Gopal Sharma and his wife Mrs. Kanta Sharma the schools follow a tradition of excellence in education.
