Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (Uganda)

The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development was created by the 1995 Constitution of Uganda and derives its power from the Constitution and related Acts of Parliament. Ministry offices are located in Kampala. Its name is abbreviated to "MoFPED". The current Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development is Hon. Kiwanuka Maria

Organization and operations

Projects

• BMAU - "Budget Monitoring and Accountability Unit", which monitors economic data and economic indicators of budgets and projects of other departments including those of Agriculture, Education, Energy, Health, Industrial parks, Roads, and Water and sanitation.[1]
• EMFP II - "Second Economic and Financial Management Project", which works with other departments and ministries to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of public expenditure.
• IFMS - "Integrated Financial Management Systems", which develops long-term fiscal policy and economic planning. [2]
