He is most known for his success at New England local shows such as WCF as well as appearing on an episode of the Tapout Show.
As a 21-year-old, with little professional guidance or mentoring, he placed third in the world in the Junior World Powerlifting Championships in Johannesburg, South Africa.[citation needed][1] Weighing just 190 pounds, Campbell could squat 666 pounds, benchpress 440 and deadlift 679 or so pounds.[citation needed][2]
Campbell made the transition to MMA and had good success, except for suffering losses in his two WEC fights. Campbell defeated former UFC lightweight contender Yves Edwards via unanimous decision in May 2010.
