The packaging for Microsoft Office 2001Developer(s) Microsoft Initial release August 2000 Stable release 9.0.6[1] / 25 July 2005 Operating system Mac OS Type Office suite Microsoft Office 2001, launched in 2000, was the last Office suite for Mac OS, or the Classic operating system; it required Mac OS 8, although version 8.5 or later was recommended.
Applications
Office 2001 included Microsoft Powerpoint, Word, and Excel, like previous releases, however Office 2001 introduced Entourage.[2] Entourage, an e-mail client, included information management tools such as a calendar, an address book, task lists and notes.
OS X Upgrade
While Office 2001 was initially designed for the Classic operating system, an upgrade was available when OS X was released.[3]
