Michael J. Mauboussin, Chief Investment Strategist at Legg-Mason Capital Management Inc and Adjunct Professor of Finance at the Columbia Business School, is regarded as one of the world’s experts in behavioural finance, and is widely read as an author and as an analyst.
Prior to joining Legg-Mason in 2004, he was a Managing Director and Chief U.S. Investment Strategist at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), which he joined in 1992 as a packaged food industry analyst. He has been at the Columbia Business School since 1993. He is the former President of the Consumer Analyst Group of New York,and is on the Board of Trustees at the Santa Fe Institute.[1]
He is the author of "Think Twice: Harnessing the Power of Counterintuition" (Harvard Business School Press, 2009), “More Than You Know: Finding Financial Wisdom in Unconventional Places” (Columbia University Press, 2006) and co-author of “Expectations Investing: Reading Stock Prices for Better Returns” (Harvard Business School Press, 2001). His ideas have been featured in national publications including NPR, [2] the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, and SmartMoney.
He holds a B.A. in Government from the Georgetown University.
