Michael Boadi

Michael Boadi (born 1969 in London), is an English hairdresser.[1]

Despite his father's wish for him to follow in his footsteps and become an architect, Michael began to teach himself how to cut and style hair after graduating from secondary school.

His art

A meeting with photographer Nick Knight (photographer), who was a regular contributor to i-D Magazine, resulted in Michael's first big break, doing hair with Nick on a photo shoot for Vogue in 1994.

From this first shoot, Michael has built up an extensive portfolio of work with stylists and leading photographers and models. He has done hair for numerous fashion shows and advertising campaigns including Gucci, Missoni, Karl Lagarfeld and Chanel, been in the pages of Vogue, W magazine, worked with photographers like Steven Klein, Mert Alas, Marcus Piggot, Mario Testino, Burt Stern and collaborated with Peter Beard on a series of photographs for i-D magazine. Michael has styled some of the world’s most famous celebrities and supermodels, such as Kate Moss, Gisele Bündchen, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, David Beckham and Bjork.
