It was originally published from 1974 through 1981 as Apartment Life, focusing primarily on urban lifestyles; the publication rebranded itself in 1981 as Metropolitan Home.
Metropolitan Home's annual Design 100 issue was their largest selling single issue.
The magazine was closed with the December 2009 issue. At the time the publication was ranked third in its category.[1]
