Metnaj is a village in the hills to the north of Stična in the Ivančna Gorica municipality in central Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Central Slovenia statistical region.[2]

The local church is dedicated to Mary Magdalene and belongs to the Stična parish. It was originally a Romanesque building that was extensively remodelled in the 17th and 19th centuries.[3]
