  5. ^ Howroyd died on 10 May 1917, just five days after the election, and was succeeded by Hon William Spence (Nationalist) at the resulting by-election on 30 June 1917. Spence was previously the member for Darling from 1901 to 1917.
  6. ^ Hughes was previously the member for West Sydney from 1901 to 1917.
  7. ^ Irvine resigned in 1918, and was succeeded by Stanley Bruce (Nationalist) at the resulting by-election on 11 May 1918.
  8. ^ Manifold died in 1918, and was succeeded by William Gibson (Victorian Farmers Union) at the resulting by-election on 14 December 1918.
  9. ^ Manifold was previously the member for Corangamite from 1901 to 1903.
  10. ^ Palmer died in 1919, and was succeeded by William Hill (Victorian Farmers Union) at the resulting by-election on 20 September 1919.
  11. ^ Salmon died in 1917, and was succeeded by Edmund Jowett (Nationalist) at the resulting by-election on 27 October 1917.
  12. ^ Story was previously a Senator for South Australia from 1903 to 1917.
  13. ^ Wise joined the Nationalist Party in February 1917, prior to this he was an independent.
