Smith, 1853 [1]Megachile sculpturalis, known as the giant resin bee, has a size between 0.5 inches (13 mm) and almost 1 in (25 mm). It is much bigger than other leafcutting bees. Native to Japan, it has immigrated to Eastern United States and Ontario, Canada in recent times.[2] It is mainly black with yellow hairs. They will nest next to carpenter bees.
