The college is affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University, Gautam Buddha Nagar.[1]
Contents
History
The institute was established in 1997 by the City Educational and Social Welfare Society. The educationist Shri Chandra Sen Agrawal was the founding chairman of the institute.

The college has a 14.04-acre (56,800 m2) campus on NH-58 Meerut-Delhi bypass with a built-up area of 34273 sq.meter.[2]
Library
The institute's library has books on engineering, technology, applied sciences, humanities, social sciences, business administration, computer applications and pharmacy. The library has 66,000 volumes in all and its reading room can seat 600 students.[2] The library is open the following times[3]:-

The library has an Online Public Access Catalogue, and subscribes to IEEE digital library facilities in engineering, science, humanities and MBA subjects. The library has a downlink facility with the EDUSAT satellite which offers live lectures given by the faculty of IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee.[3]
Computer Center
The computer center has 735 computers in 15 labs, all having internet through a 10 Mbit/s leased line.[2] All computers have Pentium 4 or later processing chip and are of HP or IBM make.[4]
Hostels
The institute has on-campus hostel facility for boys and girls. The boys hostel has a capacity of around 850 while the girls hostel can accommodate 250 students. The hostel mess runs on a no-profit no-loss basis.[5]
Transport
The institute is located on the Delhi-Meerut bypass, around 5 km from the city center. Buses and trains to all nearby and important cities are available in the city. The college is well-connected through local transport.
The college's 15 buses ply daily to the nearby cities Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad(Kaushambi), Anand Vihar(New Delhi), Muradnagar and Modinagar; and within the city. The buses are available for the hostellers to visit the city center in the evening. The bus facility runs on a no-profit no-loss basis, hence charges are nominal.[6]
Achievements
- The college was chosen as a star-performer in the UPTU academic excellence award 2008 and simultaneously for the year 2009.[7][8]
- 81 students of MIET were recruited by Infosys on 19 January 2010. Infosys was visiting MIET for the first time.
- 58 students were selected on 6th April 2010 by TCS.
- 86 students were selected on 16th June 2010 by Wipro Technologies.
