Medical Decision Making is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes papers in the field of Medical Informatics. The journal's editor is Mark Helfand, MD, MPH (Portland VA Medical Center). It has been in publication since 1981 and is currently published by SAGE Publications in association with Society for Medical Decision Making.
Scope
Medical Decision Making offers systematic approaches to decision making that are designed to improve the health and clinical care of individuals and to assist with health policy development. The journal is multidisciplinary and publishes theoretical, statistical and modelling techniques from areas such as decision psychology, clinical epidemiology and health economics.
Abstracting and indexing
Medical Decision Making is abstracted and indexed in, among other databases: SCOPUS, and the Social Sciences Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2010 impact factor is 2.013, ranking it 7 out of 22 journals in the category ‘Medical Informatics’.[1] and 27 out of 71 journals in the category ‘Health Care Sciences & Services ’.
