Pseudotropheus fainzilberi is a species of fish in the Cichlidae family. The IUCN places it in the genus Maylandia, a disputed taxon whose actual name might be Metriaclima. FishBase, however, keeps the species in Pseudotropheus.
It is found in Malawi, Mozambique, and Tanzania. Its natural habitat is freshwater lakes.
