Style
Mary and the Black Lamb's roots are planted in the Gothic rock genre. The band's songs range from heavy Gothic rock to slower paced light pop rock or alternative, giving the band a very diverse sound Lindz Riot provides all the lead vocals for songs, while Nixon usually performs the screams in the background. On some songs, Nixon and Lindz sing together mellowing out the sound of the band. Most songs on their album use heavy guitar riffs including guitar and keyboard solos in a few of their dramatic songs. They also have distinct strings in the majority of their songs, giving the band a very symphonic feel.
