Mr. RXDaedalean Complex is a band from Quebec City performing a blend of goth metal and industrial metal. The band was founded in 2007 and the name was derived from Greek mythology (see Daedalus for further explanation) with a contemporary twist.[1]

Biography
2007
- In 2007, Daedalus (keyboardist, founder) feels the need to start a side-project as he can't express himself totally in his other band (End of Cycle). After showing his demos to his great friend and guitarist John DC, they both realize the full potential of the project and start to work on getting a full-on band.
- RiXx - bass (Never more than less) and Ralph DC - drums (Abjury) embark on the journey to stardom.
- After a 3 months search and no suitable frontman in sight, Daedalus puts an ad on the band's MySpace page. One day later, they get a reply from a young but talented musician and graphic artist called Herr Nox. Almost miraculously, every aspects which Daedalus and John DC were looking for were found in this newcomer.
- The band starts rehearsing in December 2007. Everything goes surprisingly fast and by the end of the year they almost have an album-worth of material.
2008
- In March 2008, Daedalean Complex hit the stage for the first time at the alternative bar Le Temps Partiel in Quebec City. The place is packed and the response from the people there is overwhelming; the theatrical performance and intensity of the band surprise everyone.[2]
- Nokturn Studio, also located in Quebec City, see the potential in the band's efforts to produce a unique sound and offer them a deal to record their first album. In less than a month, everything is recorded and ready to be printed. The band starts promoting themselves with a couple of shows throughout the summer and fall.
- In late fall, drummer Ralph DC decides to quit the band in order to concentrate on his family. He is quickly replaced by Luc Gaulin of Moonlyght
- The band then finally release their debut album in November 2008. The response from fans is outstanding, and the album is sold out in just three months.[3]
- In the meantime, bassist RiXx takes the opportunity to announce his departure from the band as soon as they find a new bassist. In December, Seigneur of End of Cycle becomes the new bass player.
2009
- In April, Luc Gaulin leaves the band to focus on his other musical projects. Again, the search for a drummer is on.
- In the meantime, DC concentrates on writing new material for a second album and Herr Nox creates a new artwork for the second print of their debut album, simply titled Daedalean Complex - Second Edition. This Second Edition is released in April 2009.
- After numerous auditions, DC find a man called Mr. RX to fill the drummer's spot and also welcome a second guitarist aboard ; Wax.
- On August 19, the band records a live performance for LeZarts Studio (a music show promoting underground music) which gets its first broadcast on national television on November 12.
- DC end their relationships with guitarist Wax and bassist Seigneur as they no longer share the same artistic direction.
- The band quickly hires guitarist Atah'Khan (Tormentor Allegoria) and bassist M.A.D. (Hammer on faith, La Corriveau) to replace the lost members.
- John DC decides to leave the band as he his now the father of three kids and cannot find enough time to fully dedicate himself to the band. His friend Mr. RX follows him on the way out in order to concentrate on his family life.
- DC carry on with only one guitar just like they did at first. They hire Idrys (Endless Horizon) as their new drummer.
- Their album Daedalean Complex - Second Edition is sold out by the end of the year.
- The pre-production for the second full-length starts in December. Half of this new album is already written.
2010
- The band participate to the Budweiser 2nd Skin Rock contest 6 based in Quebec city. 91 bands suscribed and only 48 were selected for the contest. DC was among the finalists with the 4th position.[4][5]
- To promote their material, their first album is freely available through the official website.
- In august, DC tour across Quebec and Ontario for the Grindhouse tour with Mary and the black lamb and several local acts.[6][7]
- The recording of the second studio album begin in autumn 2010.
