Mario Alberto Rosas Montero (born 22 May 1980 in Málaga, Andalusia) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for FK Khazar Lankaran in Azerbaijan, as an attacking midfielder.

An unsuccessful youth graduate at FC Barcelona, he went on to appear in 269 Segunda División games over the course of 10 seasons, in representation of five teams, namely Castellón.

Football career

Another product of FC Barcelona's prolific youth system, La Masia, Rosas quickly excelled at its B squad, making his first team debut on 15 May 1998, in a 1–4 home loss for the already crowned champions against UD Salamanca, in what would be his only La Liga appearance for the Catalans.

Released by Barça in 2000, Rosas joined another team in the top level, Deportivo Alavés, but failed to appear regularly, being also loaned to second division's Salamanca in his second season. His career would be highly irregular in the following years, having seasons with less than five matches - CD Numancia, Cádiz CF, both in level two - and also playing with Girona FC in the third division, with relegation.

Rosas then joined another club in the second division, CD Castellón, in 2005–06; after a slow first year, he became an undisputed starter, adding 16 league goals in the following three combined. On 7 September 2008, he scored twice - one from a penalty kick, one of his specialties - in a 2–0 home win against Celta de Vigo.[1]

In early August 2010, after Murcia's relegation, 30-year old Rosas joined former side Salamanca, penning a two-year contract. After meeting the same fate with the Castile and León club, he rescinded his link and moved abroad for the first time in his career, signing for FK Khazar Lankaran in Azerbaijan.
