Career

Pina had his Primera Liga debut at Elche CF at the age of 18. In 1966 he joined RCD Espanyol after rejecting offers from Internazionale, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. That same year he debuted with the Spanish national team.[1]

In 1969, following Espanyols relegation to Second Division, he joined their local rivals FC Barcelona where he played 357 official games in 8 seasons and scored 84 goals in all competitions.[2] In the 1973–74 season he was the second top scorer the league with 17 goals, surpassed by Quini, with 20. In 1977 he left the Catalan club along with Carles Rexach. He joined Atlético Madrid, where he retired in 1980.

He has the curious record of being the only player to have scored against Real Madrid with four different teams.[3]

National team

He played with the Spain national football team in 15 games. His international debut was on 23 October 1966 against Ireland, which ended in a scoreless draw.
