Career
Revealed in the basic categories of Bangu, the six-year-old goalkeeper Marcelo arrived at Estádio da Gávea Carné in 1999, after passing a test, for which his mother took him. However, his story could have started in Flamengo. a year earlier. Acting for the team of Maua, Marcelo was probed by the red-black, but his coach told him not in the interest of Flamengo.
However, finally realized his dream of acting for Flamengo, and stood out so much that he began to be called for the Brazilian teams in the youth teams. In 2007, he devoted himself as a starter in both Flamengo. and Brazil. Unfortunately this was not a good campaign with the squad in both the Pan American Games Rio 2007 as the World category.
