It was filmed on location in Watts, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. It starred football-hero-turned-actor Timothy Brown, who was also known for his role as Spearchucker Jones in the TV series M*A*S*H, and Hong Kong star actor and martial artist Alan Tang. It also starred Aldo Ray as a crooked cop and James Hong in a villainous role. It is a combination of the Blaxploitation and Martial Arts Film genres.
Current and future stars like Tony Liu, Biff Yeager, Phillip Ko, Billy Chan, Mars and Susan McIver of the The Golddiggers fame pop up at various stages in the film.

Plot
Stud Brown played by Timothy Brown teams up with a Chinese kung-fu expert Larry Chin played by Alan Tang to fight a drug ring. [1] Larry Chin is in the U.S. trying to find his older brother but not before he is captured as an illegan alien by a crooked cop "Burke" played by Aldo Ray. Larry Chin is handcuffed to Stud Brown who was in custody and the two of them escape and end up in Watts.[2]
The film was also released in some countries with various titles such as Stud Brown, Killing Of A Chinese Bookie etc.

Video release
The film was released on DVD by BCI Eclipse on March 12, 2002. BCI was later shut down by its parent company, Navarre Corporation, and the DVD was discontinued.[3][4]
Dynamite Brothers was featured on Cinematic Titanic's live tour as East Meets Watts, and video from the tour was released on DVD on December 16, 2009.[5][6]
