Episode overview

Episode # Title Original airdate
1 "Slash and Burn"[1] April 22, 2011 (2011-04-22)
Cody and Dave travel to Tierra Del Fuego, a remote location just 500 miles (800 km) north of Antarctica. Dave demonstrates the use of black powder to cauterize a self-inflicted laceration.
2 "Buried Alive"[1] April 29, 2011 (2011-04-29)
Armed with what's left of an avalanche victim's gear, Cody and Dave show how to survive in the Wyoming's harsh Rocky Mountains. Facing sub-zero temperatures, they make their way down a jagged ice waterfall, build a snow cave and try to salvage a dead elk carcass. Along the descent, they must work together to get through waist-deep snow and rig their parachute cord to get down to the tree line where there's a chance of making a fire.
3 "Stuck in the Muck"[1] May 6, 2011 (2011-05-06)
Cody and Dave head into the Everglades to take on the role of air boaters stuck in a sawgrass prairie marsh under the blazing Florida sun. They must seek shelter in a nearby swamp where water moccasin, python and alligators lay in wait. They soon find that even with over 4,000 square miles (10,000 km2) of cypress swamp the biggest challenge is to make enough drinking water to fend off dehydration.
4 "Bitten"[1] May 13, 2011 (2011-05-13)
Cody and Dave show how to survive the rugged jungle in Thailand using only the gear an ill-equipped ecotourist might carry for a day trek: a Thai jungle knife, steel wool, a sharpening stone, a damaged cell phone and a bag of tobacco. As the pair struggles through the dense jungle they must face off with killer temperatures, unexplored caves and a field of leeches.
5 "Frozen Plains"[1] May 20, 2011 (2011-05-20)
Cody and Dave take on the scenario of two ranchers, stranded on the Northern Great Plains in Montana during the dead of winter. Their only survival supplies are the charred remains of a burned-down shack: an axe head, a bison hide, a glass jar, a metal tin and a steel striker.
6 "Out of Africa"[1] May 24, 2011 (2011-05-24)
Cody and Dave take on a survival scenario in South Africa's backcountry where dehydration kills in hours and hungry super-predators kill even faster. Armed with nothing but a machete, they show how to escape the bush without getting eaten alive.
7 "Out of the Clouds"[1] May 27, 2011 (2011-05-27)
Cody and Dave take on the role of biologists lost in the wet cloud forests of Panama 7,000 feet (2,100 m) above sea level with only a poncho, specimen jar and a broken lighter to aid in their quest for civilization.
8 "Adrift"[1] June 3, 2011 (2011-06-03)
Cody and Dave take on the survival scenario of two castaways adrift at sea and show how to survive being stranded on a deserted jungle island in the South Pacific. This time, even Dave goes barefoot.
9 "Eating Dust"[1] June 10, 2011 (2011-06-10)
Cody and Dave take on the role of race enthusiasts stranded in the Baja desert in Mexico. They have to survive the heat, salt laden desert woodland and lack of water. They find innovative ways to use urine for survival.
10 "Hippo Island"[1] June 17, 2011 (2011-06-17)
Cody and Dave use waterlogged binoculars and a dying GPS to escape the hippo-infested marshland of Botswana's Okavango Delta.
11 "Up the River"[1] June 24, 2011 (2011-06-24)
In Kentucky, Dave and Cody take on a scenario of two kayakers who are dumped into the cold river just a few hours before sundown. To make things worse, they become separated from each other by two miles of rushing river. Then, Dave traps an irate skunk.
12 "Road to Nowhere"[1] July 1, 2011 (2011-07-01)
Cody and Dave portray two lost travelers who run out of gas on an abandoned logging road in Northern Maine. To survive, they loot a broken-down truck for supplies and find a can of dog food.
