She was played by Stirling Gallacher and made her first appearance on 7 January 2003.
Character
George is a patient and caring doctor and gives her full attention to each case. She has a holistic approach to medicine and believes there's more to recovery than just pills.
Determined to change the world, George will eagerly join anyone in campaigning for better rights. But her focus on the bigger picture means she rarely stops to assess her own life.
George is married to Ronnie whom she met at university. Together they have a little girl, Bracken. Ronnie didn't want children but George took matters into her own hands and stopped taking the pill. Despite their ups and downs, George and Ronnie have a solid, loving relationship.
Move to China
In March 2009 Ronnie told George about a job he had been offered in Shanghai. Ronnie had declined the offer but George eventually convinced him to accept it. However, just before the their departure they learnt that George was pregnant. This led to a fight between the pair as George wanted to remain in Leatherbridge but Ronnie still wanted to leave. Eventually George relented and she left with her husband and daughter, Bracken, with the staff at The Mill throwing a surprise leaving party beforehand. Colleague and good friend Julia Parsons was in tears as was George. Julia gave George a DVD to remember them all by, which included a message from Bermuda from former colleague Vivien March. When leaving, George said goodbye to everybody, and George and Julia agreed they would stay in touch and even visit each other at some point when they have enough spare time.
