Storylines
2007
Tracey first showed up at Shortland Street in late 2007 when the Ferndale Strangler had been killing for a few months. Lara Wade sent Tracey in as an undercover cop. Tracey struggled in the field as her nursing skills were very rusty and some people suspected it was her first time being a nurse. She hit on some of the major suspects including Scotty, Gavin Capper and unbeknownst to her, the actual killer, Joey Henderson. In November 2007, Tracey mysteriously went missing on her way back from the gym. Kieran Mitchell and Wiremu discovered her unconscious in the dumpster outside the IV. She and Alice Piper mark the only survivors Joey prayed on. Tracey had markings drawn on her body and was heavily drugged up. Tracey could not remember a thing, except a white van.
2008-2011
Tracey returned to the hospital in mid 2008 as a trainee nurse. The traumatic experience of Joey made her swap careers. She instantly didn't get on with most of the hospital as they despised her for not catching Joey. Kip Denton and Tracey got into many arguments but eventually settled down and started to date. Ethan Pierce took Tracey out for a drink much to Kips annoyance but it went no further. Kips over protectiveness led Tracey to go out a lot with ex-cops and she started to drift away from Kip.
In 2009 Tai Scott arrived. Tracey was initially cautious around him. But soon discovered his better side and started to get attracted to him. She broke up with Kip and went after Tai. She taught Tai the better way of life and started to teach him how to read. But Tai performed an armed robbery and Tracey, betrayed, called the police on him. Tracey dates Maxwell Avia but grows sick of his baggage and they break up. She moves in with friend Scotty and briefly dates Hunter. After a close brush with death when visiting Tai Scott in jail in May 2010, Scotty and Tracey admitted they had fallen for each other. They then began a relationship and in September, Scotty proposed. Tracey suffered many problems with her family including brother, Doug who turned out to be a bent cop and her mother and father disapproving of Scotty.
Tracey's fiancee Scotty suffers from post traumatic stress after a hospital orderly, Penny tries to murder him. He accuses Tracey of being an imposter and tries to kill her.
In 2011 Tracey escapes and the two break up after Scotty is fully healed from his psychotic episode. The two reconcile and marry on Valentines Day. The married couple decide to honey moon in East Timor, helping people in need. After the honeymoon, the two decide to try for children. In June, Tracey is disappointed to learn she has low fertility and begins IVF treatment. The couple decide to adopt the son of Scotty's ex lover, having to move to Timor to do so. As they prepare to leave, Tracey discovers she is pregnant with Scotty's child. The family leave in mid August after a large farewell party is held in their honour.
