In early March 2008 Alice was abducted by
Joey Henderson (the Ferndale Strangler - in his final act) and held hostage by him in his warehouse lockup for a number of days, chained to a bed. While he came close to killing her on several occasions throughout that time, particularly as he performed anappendicectomy procedure on her, she later managed to escape when Alice needed to go to the toilet and she threw the chamber pot at Joey. He pushed her to the floor and stabed Joey withscissors , wounding him; she eventually escaped screaming leaving a bloody trail before being rescued by Craig, Kieran and the Police, leading Joey tocommit suicide by jumping from a rooftop.Kelly Piper

April 21 ,2008 Alice discovered she is 5 weeks pregnant. Craig proposed but she turned him down and went to stay with her mother Fran for a few weeks to sort out if she wanted to go through with the pregnancy as there is a possibility that Guy Warner fathered the unborn child.She returned, accepted the marriage proposal, and admitted the truth to Craig. She then decided to sell her story to a TV show, to help other woman who may have been affected by Joey. However, Craig called the wedding off when he discovered that Alice sold the TV show the rights to take photos at the wedding. Craig received a phone call from the lawyer regarding his daughter Scarlett when she tried run down
Hunter McKay . Craig flew to Perth, Australia to see her and prepare her for the pending trial.Alice went away for a couple of weeks(or months) after collapsing due to stress. She returned on
September 1 ,2008 and it seemed she might have be looking to reconcile with Craig. Unfortunately on Septemebr 2nd, Craig was murdered. Leaving Alice devastated at the thought of raising a child on her own. On September 4th (two days after Craig's death) she went into premature labour and gave birth to a baby girl, which she named Kelly. On Wednesday 8th October 2008 on Jay's 1st birthday Kelly passed away due to Renal Failure.Fran's Return
A few days after Kelly was born Fran Piper (Alice's mother) returned to ferndale and vowed to be a part of Alice and Kelly's lives. Unbeknownst to Alice, Fran has stopped taking her medication that controls her moods stemming from a unnamed mental illness.Fran left ferndale in late September.
