Dorit DoDo Bar Or (aka: Dorit Bar-Or, Hebrew: דורית בר-אור, דורית בר אור, born 1975) is an Israeli actress and fashion persona.

Bar Or appeared on Israel's main theaters, leading TV shows and movies throughout the decade. In 2009 she was selected No.1 Chic dressed person in Israel's leading Pnai Plus magazine from Yedioth Ahronoth group.

On August 28, 2009 at the Israeli Television Academy Awards ceremony held in Beersheba Bar Or, alongside the entire puppet based cast of TV show "Red Band" has won best comedic TV show of the year [1].

Career

Bar Or graduated with an acting degree from Sorbonne, Paris in 1994. She then moved to Tel Aviv and immediately upon arrival starred in several low-key theater adaptations includingLove and Human Remains in the role of Candy, and in the role of French Revolutionist Charlotte Corday in Peter Weiss's Marat/Sade. Her work was highly critically acclaimed.

Her next stop was Beit Lessin Theater [2] in Tel Aviv, where she led the cast of "Slihot" (Hebrew for "Forgiveness"), written by Hana Azoulay-Hasfari [3]. She later joined the cast of the Cameri Theater play production of Mirele Efros with co-actress Yona Elian. For that role she was nominated for "Promising Actress Of The Year" by the Israeli Academy of Theatre. In the following year, she continued performing with the Cameri Theater in an original play called "Milano," created by Shmuel Hasfari.

In 1999, Bar Or got her first major break in television, appearing alongside Zvika Hadar [4] in "Shemesh" [5] (Hebrew for "Sun"), the highest rated Israeli sitcom at the time.

In the following year she took lead role in "Ken O Lo" (Hebrew: "Yes or No") next to renowned actor and filmmaker Assi Dayan on Israel'sChannel 1. In 2000, she also participated in the first Channel 2 Israeli neighborhood oriented drama Florentin made by Eytan Fox. Her colleague in that show was Angels & Demons's star Ayelet Zurer.

In 2004 she made her debut on Channel 10 playing a leading role in "Ahava Ze Koev" [6] (Hebrew for "Love Hurts"), created by Dana Modan. The series won Best Drama and Best Scripted Show at Israel's Television Academy Awards for that year.

Turning to film, Bar Or was nominated for many awards from 2005 until the present. She has appeared in the feature "Gotta have Joy" [7], by Julie Shles and "Etzba Haeloim" (Hebrew for "Finger of God", French: "Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis"), by Dany Boon.

Returning to television in 2006, alongside Ido Rosenblum [8] Bar Or hosted "48 Hours", one of Israel's first time genre reality shows. She also managed to take another leading role playing Adi in a drama series, Hot's "Parashat Ha-Shavua" (Hebrew for "Jewish Weekly Commentary"), created by Rani Blair and Ari Folman.

From Haaretz, English edition, 2008 [9]: In "Out of the Blue," written and directed by Yigal Bursztyn, the actors play two unsuccessful but good-hearted buddies - penniless junk dealers who ride around town on a dilapidated cart, encounter a beautiful princess (Dorit Bar-Or), and are swept after her and onto a surprising adventure.

In 2007, Bar Or took to another field of creative endeavour, writing and formatting with Yonatan Cognac [10] and also starring in the series "Al Ktzot Hezbaot" [11] (Hebrew for "At the Fingertips"), whick tells the story of three dancer sisters enmeshed in a world of law and misfortune. The show was produced by Keshet and aired on Israeli Channel 2 for 24 episodes.

Currently in 2009, Bar Or is part of an award winning comedic Israeli TV show "Red Band", directed by Eitan Tzur [12].
